How to Join

Joining Downpatrick Credit Union Ltd. is easy – all you do is apply for membership. To become a member you will need at least £6 to open your account, £1 of this being your entrance fee.

To open an account with Downpatrick Credit Union Ltd, you will have to bring two forms of identification*

One from LIST A (to confirm who you are)

AND

One from LIST B (to confirm your address**)

LIST A

  • Current full signed passport
  • Current photo card driving licence (Provisional & full)
  • Building industry subcontractor’s card (issued by inland revenue)
  • Electoral Card

LIST B

  • Bank/building society statement or passbook showing your current address
  • Current rates bill
  • NIHE rent book/tenancy agreement
  • Most recent phone/electricity bill (not a mobile phone bill)

*Please note that the same form of identification CAN NOT be used to confirm who you are and your address, these two forms must be different.

**Your home address or work address must fall within Downpatrick Credit Union’s Common Bond area.

MUST BE WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS

You are required by the Money Laundering Act 1995 to provide two pieces of identification.

If you are unable to produce any of the above items, please speak to a member of staff.

 

MINOR DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS

For those aged 0 – 15 years of age, Downpatrick Credit Union offers Minor Deposit Accounts. For further details on these accounts, please see the Minor Deposits section on this website.

To open a Minor Deposit Account, the child’s parent or legal guardian must provide the child’s birth certificate and we will open the account in the office.
