Job Title: Member Service Officer

Position: Full Time / permanent

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday including Thursday evening or Saturday morning

Salary:  To be discussed at interview

Location: Downpatrick Credit Union

GENERAL SCOPE OF ROLE:   The Member Service Officer will be accountable to the Manager(s) of Downpatrick Credit Union for carrying out a range of administrative and operational activities that contribute to the  effective running of Downpatrick Credit Union.

MEMBER SERVICE DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:   

Processing payments lodgements/withdrawals 

Processing loan applications 

Dealing with foreign exchange transactions and ordering currencies 

Dealing with all filing of correspondence, photocopying and office documents as required. 

Dealing with new and existing members and educating them on the services we provide 

Telephone and email queries 

Balancing cash and end of day procedures 

All other teller, cashier or administrative duties as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION:   

Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above to include Maths & English 

Minimum 1 years experience working in a financial environment 

Good communication skills 

Good computer skills with strong working knowledge of Microsoft office 

Good interpersonal skills with a mature attitude 

Ability to prioritise workload and multi-task  

Credit union experience and knowledge would be a distinct advantage 

Previous financial/ cash handling experience and knowledge would be a distinct advantage

This is a varied role suitable for a highly motivated individual
